After 18 years of experience as an RN, I enhanced my medical knowledge and skills by obtaining a MSN degree in the nurse practitioner program at UNC in 2012. After graduating with honors, I have had the opportunity to broaden my scope of practice in the private clinical setting. I have experience in a variety of medical specialties to include urgent care and primary care. Due to intensive training and hands on experience mandated by the high standards of the diadactic program at UNC and diverse patient management as a nurse practitioner, I feel confident and eager to provide health care to patients and families with a focus on health maintenance, disease prevention, wellness and patient education. I also have been afforded the privilege to help those in need by diagnosing and treating diseases such as malaria and intestinal parasites while providing foreign medical care in the Republic of Honduras. In my free time I enjoying reading, sailing, surfing, CrossFit and yoga.
